She begins each engagement by working with clients to clarify their needs and create an accurate definition of the ideal skills and personality for a position. Then, Sarah applies the knowledge acquired with her human relations degree, along with her extensive research talents and natural tenacity and perceptiveness, to identify candidates who are an exceptional fit for the job and company. Her growing base of repeat clients values her persistence, discretion and thoroughness. A lifelong learner, Sarah continually strives to build her understanding of the companies she serves and their industries, making her an invaluable partner to her clients’ executive and human resources teams.

Sarah Bowie joined Pearson Partners International in 2012 from Tenet Healthcare, the third-largest investor-owned hospital owner and operator, bringing lengthy experience in corporate recruiting as well as a relentless focus on ensuring the best match of candidate and company.

At Tenet, Sarah launched a research function for executive recruitment of Tenet’s senior corporate management and the leadership teams of the 116 hospitals that composed the health system at the time. Her accomplishments included conceptualizing and supervising the design of a contact management system for recruiting executives that was considered state-of-the-art for the healthcare industry. Sarah was a key contributor to multiple hires in two of Tenet’s leading-edge departments: Applied Clinical Informatics and Performance Management & Innovation. She also held a key role in a national recruitment initiative to hire 80 sales reps at 45 Tenet hospitals in a three-month timeframe.

Prior to Tenet, Sarah was a researcher and executive recruiter at Hudson, a leading executive search firm, where she performed retained mid-level searches for clients in diverse industries including manufacturing, retail, consumer products, and financial services. She was one of two recruiters from the North American business group to receive an achievement award based on gross margin contribution and other performance criteria, and was nominated for a Chairman’s Award based on adherence to corporate values in 2006 and 2008.

Sarah earned a bachelor’s degree in human relations and business from Amberton University and was certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources in 2008.

What motto do you live by?

I try never to forget what it’s like to be a job seeker or corporate hiring person.

Why did you feel executive recruiting was the right field for you?

It’s a mix of art and science that uses both sides of my brain. I thrive on the diversity of generalist recruiting.

If you had to change careers tomorrow, what job would you choose and why?

I would probably just make a change from agency to corporate recruiting. They feel like very different jobs to me, although I think similar skills suit both.
